Event Details

Oregon's Willamette Valley is home to some of the best pinot noirs produced anywhere in the world, but producers are now turning out some amazing other varietals and drawing worldwide acclaim.  For our September event, we're going to explore several wine varieties from this region and see what all the excitement is about!

About the Willamette Valley
The unique, unusually cool climate of the valley is due to its location between the Columbia River to the north, the Calapooya Mountains to the south, the Cascade Mountain foothills to the east, and Oregon's Coast Range to the west. All this encapsulates the 100-mile long, 60-mile wide Willamette Valley, home to more than 300 wineries.

Since 2004, winemakers and wine growers have succeeded in submitting applications for approval of six sub-regions within the Willamette Valley, to better describe micro climates proven over the years to be distinctly suited for the growing of wine grapes.  McMinnville Foothills, Dundee Hills, Ribbon Ridge, the Yamhill-Carlton District, Eola-Amity Hills District and the Chehalem Mountains were all authorized as official American Viticultural Areas (AVAs).

Our Event
We return to Lush in Roscoe Village to learn about wines from this region under the tutelage of Rachel Driver.  We'll taste 6 or more wines -- not just pinot noir, but pinot gris, riesling, chardonnay and others Rachel will hand-select for us -- and enjoy some light appetizers.

Cost is $35/person before 6pm on Sunday, September 21st; $45/person thereafter. Space limits our attendance to 30 people, so sign up soon to ensure you can attend!
